Adriana Torchelo
Technical Director, Climate Change Consultant, ProSustentia
I´m a Chemical Engineer from the University of the Republic of Uruguay (UdelaR) and MBA from the University of Montevideo (IEEM – UM).
I have 12 years of experience in climate change. I started to work in the subject in 2005 elaborating the National GHG Inventories and evaluating CDM projects in the Climate Change Unit of the National Directorate of Environment of Uruguay. From 2007 until 2011 I worked in EcoSecurities South America as a Senior Project Manager, leading energy and waste GHG reduction projects in the region.
In 2011 I funded ProSustentia, together with Federico Moyano (http://www.prosustentia.com/), which assists entities in Latin America in the definition and implementation of comprehensive carbon policies that, through an efficient project and/or programs management of GHG emissions reduction projects contribute to the sustainable development.
Particularly, regarding cities GHG inventories, we worked in the Buenos Aires city Climate Action Plan 2020. I was particularly in charge of the GHG inventories from 2000 until 2014 update according to the GPC.
Nowadays we are working with C40 for the implementation of GPC inventories in 5 cities of Argentina and in Medellín.
